Batch rename photos on your Mac

Save hours of work by renaming large numbers of photos in seconds with Renamer4Mac. Read on to learn how, or watch this movie.

Let's assume you just downloaded photos from your digital camera and find them in the format IMG_3241.JPG, IMG_3245.JPG, ... and you would like to rename to something more meaningful such as My holiday 01.jpg.


Step 1: Install Renamer4Mac

Download Renamer4Mac and then install it by dragging it into your Applications directory.


Step 2: Drag in photos

Select the photos you want to rename in Finder and drag them into Renamer4Mac.

Step 3: Switch to number mode

Click on the Number tab to switch to numbering mode.

Step 4: Pick a label

Enter the common label for your photos (such as My summer holiday) into the Label textfield.

Step 5: Set the rename format

In the Text format drop-down list pick "Label - number"

Click Rename to perform the rename.
